After successfully completing the delivery and skidding off of the topside of the Pickerill B production platform at the port of Vlissingen, the 3-legged decommissioning jack-up rig ‘Erda’ departed the Westhofhaven in Vlissingen Wednesday 3rd of November for it’s next project.
Offshore Marine Contractors (OMC) manages, in close co-operation with owners Petrodec BV and operators Perenco, the move of the decommissioning and support rig, previously named ‘Energy Endeavour’ from Vlissingen to the offshore production platform 49/27a Leman of Perenco UK on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf.
The Erda was manoeuvred out of the Westhofhaven by the Multratug 4 (75 tbp) and Fairplay 28 (73 tbp) with further harbour assistance of Multraship Towage.
Reconfiguring to the seagoing tug spread was done at the Sloehaven, where Rimorchiatori’s AHTS AH Varazze (220 tbp) connected for the 140 nautical mile transit towards the Leman platform.
After the passage of the Sloehaven breakwater, the convoy arrived consequently in the Leman Field on Friday 05/11. After the anchor deployment the Erda has been successfully positioned and installed at minimum tolerances alongside the Leman platform for the installation of a compressor module on Perenco’s production platform.
The challenging rigmove, anchor handling operations and close tolerance positioning at the 49/27a Leman platform has been managed by the OMC Towmasters on board the Erda, in close cooperation with the Petrodec BV crew on board the rig.
