Med Marine proudly announces that it has signed a newbuilding contract with Tug Malta Ltd., a company belonging to the Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group.
The vessel is a RAstar 3000-W class tugboat designed by Robert Allan Ltd. The tug, which will operate in Malta, will feature 80 tonnes bollard pull with enhanced escort towing and seakeeping performance.
Rimorchiatori Riuniti engaged Robert Allan Ltd. directly to develop the concept for the vessel prior to awarding the newbuilding contract to Med Marine.
She is planned to have the following dimensions:

Breadth, Moulded: 13.30m
Depth, Moulded: 5,45m
Draft, Departure (200 DWT): 6,15m
GRT: 499GRT
LNG compatible vessel will utilise MTU 16V4000M65L engines which develop a total output of 2 x 2.560 kW (app. 6866 bhp) with a free sailing speed of 13.0 knots, Rolls Royce US255 thrusters and Rolls Royce deck machinery. The vessel will have an accommodation space for 8 crew members.
